An acoustic folk/pop group from The Netherlands. Ygdrassil was founded in 1992 by singers Linde Nijland and Annemarieke Coenders. Their harmonic and clear female voices are the most important trademark of the group. Ygdrassil's self-titled debut album was released in 1995. Since 2004 Ygdrassil is accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Bert Ridderbos. He plays on their fifth and last album Easy Sunrise, which came out in 2005. In 2007 Nijland and Coenders announced a break in their creative collaboration. Ygdrassil played a farewell tour, with a final concert in June 2007.
