Hailing from St. Louis, United States, xjn is the moniker behind the work of artist Christian Oncken, who set out to develop a unique blend of sound that falls somewhere in between deep house, funk and disco revival with a jazzy twist. xjn started his own imprint with an open mind and with the intention to primarily release his own music: he managed to release 6 independent EPs and 2 full length albums with his side-projects since 2009, as well as various tracks featured on other record labels.
