Arizona's Windigo was a New York-style, hard-core-turned-metal band, formed by singer Matt Strangwayes and guitarist Jason "Eat 'em Up" Wilhite. Formerly known as Windigo Psychosis, the band went through several personnel switches until finally stabilizing with the addition of bassist Dave Curwin and drummer “Junior” Newlin. Before that happened, the band laid down two short CDs, “Who Can You Trust” and the three-song “Strangewayes Prison”. Although selected as Best Metal Band in 1995 by New Times, Windigo morphed into a band and worked hard on their first album, produced by former Guns N' Roses ax man Gilby Clarke, who described the band as “very heavy but with a groovy '60s influence to it...”
