Willie Collins sang smooth, soulful Southern flavoured R&B / New York-recorded ballads with one, "Let's Get Started," charting number 43 R&B in Billboard during spring 1986. Hailing from North Carolina, Collins moved to New York. His 1986 Capitol LP, Where You Gonna Be Tonight? was produced by Billy Nichols and Collins. Besides "Let's Get Started" (which is in the vein of Freddie Jackson's "Rock Me Tonight"), the album boasted the smooth lush title track co-written by Joylon Skinner, the loping, languid ballad "Restless," the lilting "Ain't No Woman."
