Bill Tabbert was an American lyric tenor and stage and Hollywood actor, known for The Pickle Goes in the Middle (1973), The Colgate Comedy Hour (1950) and Showtime, U.S.A. (1950). Primarily known for his originating the stage role of Lieut. Joseph Cable in “South Pacific,” the Pulitzer Prize‐winning musical. He sang in nightclubs and made numerous radio and television appearances and was host of the Bill Tabbert Show for ABC in 1954. Born October 5, 1919 in Chicago, IL, USA. Died October 19, 1974 in Manhattan, New York City, NY, USA.
