    Pianist, organist, songwriter and composer Wesley Wilson wrote about 400 songs, many of them with his wife Leola B. Wilson (Coot Grant). In the 1920s and 30s they worked with artists including Fletcher Henderson, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, and the Mezz Mezzrow-Sidney Bechet Quintet, as well as performing at musical comedies, vaudeville, travelling minstrel shows and revues.
