Member of three seminal jazz groups of the 20th century: the Jazz Messengers led by Art Blakey, The Miles Davis Quartet & Weather Report. He was a long-standing collaborator with Joni Mitchell and won 11 Grammy awards as well a lifetime achievement Grammy.
