The group was discovered by a prominent kwaito producer M'Du when he brought his car to a carwash (coined their group name). As he was impressed by their potential talent, he immediately signed them a records deal and they began to record their first album. Shortly after the release, the group parted ways with their producer, as many artists signed under M'Du were known to have royalty disputes with him. They released "Nondlala" in 1998 under the Gallo label.
