    Worked with Joe Haymes in the early 1930s, long spell with Phil Harris before joining Bob Crosby. Left Crosby in 1938 to join Tommy Dorsey. Long spell of studio work for CBS (briefly with Benny Goodman in 1944). Continued studio work in 1950s. In 1964 moved to Chicago. Married to singer Kay Weber.
