Born: 1st October 1903 Kiev, Russian Empire.
Died: 5th November 1989 New York City, New York, USA.
Settled in the U.S. in 1939 and became an American citizen in 1944.
Husband of Wanda Toscanini Horowitz (m. 1933), with whom he had a daughter Sonia (b. 1934 – d. 1975).
During his career, Horowitz retired from public performances four times. Horowitz won 25 Grammy Awards and 5 Grammy Hall of Fame Awards. He was awarded the President's Medal of Freedom.
