viah [ˈviːjʌ] – a Prague-based electronic girl band (members: Vi Tranová, Rosalie Malinská, and Veronika Hurtová) Viah became the 2019 winners of Czeching, a contest held by Radio Wave, having been named the most export-ready band in the Czech Republic by an international jury. They have played at the biggest European showcase festival ESNS21 in the Netherlands, they were the support band for Dido's concert in Prague, they also played at Waves Vienna, or at the Czech Center in Berlin. “Having gone through the local version of American Idol as well as Radio Wave’s own competition for undiscovered artists, viah entered Czeching a seasoned veteran, although still at the very beginning of her career. Her debut album Tears of a Giant is almost tailor-made for the scope of international showcase festivals.
