UNCHAIN was formed in 1996 but made their debut in 2005. Their music is described as "groovy rock that exquisitely blends jazz, soul music, fusion, and even the essence of city pop." They are based out of Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The members consist of 谷川正憲 (Masanori Tanigawa) on vocals and guitar, 谷浩彰 (Hiroaki Tani) on bass and backing vocal, and 吉田昇吾 (Shogo Yoshida) on drums.
