Although more noisy, arty post-punk, the band is labeled as one of the pioneers of grunge and was a crucial part of the Seattle scene in the mid-1980s. Tom Price (guitar), Charlie "Chaz" Ryan (drums), Robin Buchan (bass) and John Bigley (vocals), formed the band in 1981. After only one year Buchan left the band and was replaced by Jim Tillman. In this lineup they recorded their first EP U-Men in 1984. In 1987 they released their single Solid Action, after which Tillman left the band. He was replaced by Tom Hazelmyer. For their first album Step on a Bug, Tony Rasom took over bass. The album was released in 1988 and the band broke up shortly afterwards. Members: John Bigley—Vocals Tom Price—Guitar Chas Ryan—Drums Jim Tillman—Bass Robin Buchan – bass (1981–1982) Tom Hazelmeyer – bass (November 1987) Tony Ransom – bass ( July 1987–1989)
