Truckdrivers

The beginning «Truckdrivers» group was founded in spring 2011. At that time the local scene consisted mainly of newfangled hardcore in Chelyabinsk and ska-punk music remained somewhere in the past for the audience. At one of such concerts Igor (drums) and Pasha (guitar) met in the bar and agreed to try playing something that had almost never sounded on the local scene of the city. There was a firm decision to play music with ska-punk elements like Operation Ivy. N. The group started to look for a bass guitarist so Ruslan (bass \ vocals), having not only bass guitar skills, but also suitable voice, responded to ads. The band started rehearsals and after a little thinking it was decided to play threesome in principle. This approach helps to fully implement all the musical skills and to have an interesting sound. The first performances. The first performance of the group was held in the autumn of 2011. It was organized by the group itself in the rehearsal. Just friends and acquaintances were invited in the main and the party had a private event format with the appropriate name «Only Friends Party». These were some of the first attempts to gather into one all the pieces of the city subculture. Thus a small DIY scene was created where the group held its first performances without even a name. First trips. In parallel with the first concerts some of the group members established contacts with concert organizers from the neighboring cities such as Perm and Yekaterinburg. The group was invited to warm up the St Petersburg group Riot Gang. Both trips were very successful and the public of the neighboring DIY formations accepted group compositions with interest. As the band had no name at that time, but it was necessary for posters and publicity activities, guys decided on the first name that came to their mind: «Truckdrivers». This name was proved by frequent trips and performances throughout Russia later. During 4 years of existence the group has had three tours in Russia and the CIS and many concerts in their hometown. Guys have also recorded 2 not full-length albums. The songs are mainly devoted to self-development and doing. There is also a message that in any case you need to be yourself, to act and do not stop no matter what difficulties may come in your way. The band is sometimes sarcastic, telling about simple values of the guys from the province. The band members have always valued freedom of action and freedom of speech. For these reasons the group is loved by many listeners. Guys have never welcomed any forms of discrimination based on the principles of hate. At the moment the first full-length album is being written. The band is going to keep on performing and developing because punk music is a kind of lifestyle for them and freedom that they’ll never change to anything else.
