Toni Fisher was an American pop singer best remembered for her 1959 song "The Big Hurt", written by her manager Wayne Shanklin. According to disc jockey Wink Martindale, she was billed on the record as "Miss Toni Fisher" because her voice was so powerful that the record company wanted to make certain listeners knew that a woman was performing the song. Born in 1924 Los Angeles, California- died 1999. Fisher died of a heart attack on January 11, 1999.
