    Tom Mallon (24 December 1956 – 9 January 2014) was a recording studio owner, engineer and rock dilettante. He was involved in the music scene in and around San Francisco for nearly 35 years. He began in a one bedroom apartment in the Haight (in 1976) with a four-track and over the years built two studios. He played drums in marching bands and in competing color guards on the East coast when he was younger and, after a huge hiatus, for three years in the American Music Club (1986 - 1989), bass in AMC for half a year (1989), drums in the Toiling Midgets (1991 - 1997 and 2007 - present) and bass in the reconstituted Negative Trend (2008 - present). Tom Mallon passed away on 9th January 2014 after being diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (an aggressive brain cancer) in July 2012. He was 57.
