UK progressive rock group, early 1970s. The group taked their name from the titular character in the first book of Mervyn Peake’s Gormenghast series. They played progressive rock with hints of jazz. Titus Groan disbanded late 1970 following a serious accident involving Tony Priestland, in which he suffered broken legs and pelvis.
