From San Francisco, California came this four piece combo that combined the best of such midwest surf music legends as The Astronauts and The Trashmen. Forming in 1991 (and breaking up in 1996) the group's approach was absolute revivalist. Vintage equipment, solid energy and a clear understanding of the genre led to originals that you will swear were written in 1963. Rick Escobar (aka El Reverbo Capitan) plays a trad inspired, reverb laden lead, while rhythm guitarist Dave Mangiante uses even more reverb in the classic palm damped style. Bob Bishop holds down the rumbly bottom end and Chris Amsler provides the crash and burn drums. They captured everything from the '63 surf beat - not only the style, but the spirit.
