The Superfine Dandelion was an American psychedelic rock band from Phoenix, Arizona.

the band was founded in 1967 by Mike McFadden (ex The Mile Ends) on vocals, harmonica and guitar, Ed Black on lead guitar and piano, Ed Black (later Rick Anderson) on bass, and Mike Collins on drums. The group was influenced by Buffalo Springfield, the Lovin' Spoonful, Bob Dylan, and Jefferson Airplane.

They were managed and produced by Jim Musil and played regularly at the Electric Cellar at J.D.s and at the Fifth Estate in Scottsdale, Arizona (which was owned by Musil).

They released singles on the Rook label under the name Super-Fine Dandelion and were signed onto Mainstream Records in 1967 where they released a pair of singles and their first and only self titled album. The album failed to chart, and the group disbanded in 1968.

In 1967, Bill Haley (without the Comets) recorded a pair of demos in Phoenix, Arizona including a late-60s-style rocker, "Rock on Baby", backed by the Superfine Dandelion (neither recording would be released for 30 years).

Ed Black and Mike McFadden went on to work with the Goose Creek Symphony and Linda Ronstadt. Anderson went on to be a founding member of the Tubes.
