The Sea Urchins

About

The Sea Urchins were formed in West Bromwich, England in 1986 by Mark Bevin, Robert Cooksey, Bridget Duffy, James Roberts, Patrick Roberts and Simon Woodcock. Mark, Robert, James and Simon had been playing together in bands since 1979. Many recordings from this early period can be found on the CD-R The Sea Urchins - Open Out Volume 1 (1981 - 1985) (Bobby Bongo Records). In 1987 Darren Martin replaced Mark Bevin on bass and they signed to the Sarah Records. Bridget Duffy and Darren Martin left the band in 1988 and 1989 respectively, with Simon Woodcock switching to playing the bass with James Roberts taking over on rhythm guitar. The Sea Urchins split in 1992 with James Roberts, Robert Cooksey and Patrick Roberts forming Delta the same year, with Matthew Eaton of Pram.
