The Rapture was an American rock band based in New York City, formed 1998. Some of the members were also involved in the band Carpet. The band mixed influences from many genres including post-punk, new rave, dance-punk, acid house, disco, electronica and rock and roll. The band quietly split early 2014, reunited in 2019 without Mattie Safer.
