Instrumental studio group created by Ed Cobb and Lincoln Mayorga. Other members included Bob Bain (guitar), Scott Gordon (sax), Jackie Kelso (sax), Tommy Tedesco (bass), and Alan Brenmanen (drums). The band named itself after the famous "Piltdown Man" hoax of 1912. Not the same as Tilt Down Men.
