In 1938 two vocal groups ([a=The Three Rhythm Kings] & The 4 Esquires) and Jo Stafford (from The Stafford Sisters) merged into one supergroup, vocal octet The Pied Pipers. By late 1939 they were down to a quartet and had several personnel changes through the years.
The group was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001.
