Southern California band, formed in Los Angeles in August 1966 from the folk rock group "The Ashes." The Peanut Butter Conspiracy included original Ashes members John Merrill (guitar/vocals), Barbara Robison (vocals), and Alan Brackett (bass/vocals), with new members Lance Baker Fent (guitar) and Jim Voigt (drums).
