The Ocean Party

About

The Ocean Party was a prolific Melbourne-based jangle pop band who released eight studio albums in seven years during the 2010s, alongside dozens more EP/mini-album tracks and demos.

Initially made up entirely of musicians from Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, the band grew throughout their career as they shifted to a collaborative songwriting approach where each member would take the lead on a couple of tracks per record.

The band toured relentlessly and released just as much music to support their rigorous scheduling, but the project was sadly cut short in late 2018 when Zac Denton died unexpectedly. The Ocean Party released a final EP Nothing Grows in March 2019, accompanied by a farewell tour.

All six remaining members of the band then formed Pop Filter in 2020 and continue to release music to this day.
