Collaboration between Chicago house songwriters and producers [a=Riley Evans] (aka [a=Henry Watson]) and Jere McAllister (aka Alan Walker).
While false names were used on the original 1987 release, they were correctly credited on subsequent reissues e.g. [r161367].
Evans released two records as [a=The Knight Writers] in 1989 and 1990, before his death in 1991, while McAllister used the alias [a=Nitewriterz] in 1997.
[l=Trax Records] released a new version of Let The Music (Use You) by McAllister and vocalist [a=Reggie Hall] on the B-side to [r=393262] in 2004.
Let The Music (Use You) and its follow up, Over You, were famously produced and mixed by Frankie Knuckles, hence why The Night Writers is often referred to as a Knuckles alias.
[a=Ricky Dillard], the vocalist on the original version of Let The Music (Use You), released an album of the same name in 1989 (Let The Music Use You), with more tracks written by Evans and McAllister.
