Dutch soul-blues band founded in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, by Surinam born singer and cultural entrepreneur Teddy Treurniet with musicians from Surinam and the Netherlands Antilles. Band members were a.o. Surinam arranger Stan Lokhin, guitar players Franky Douglas and Siegie Cederboom, drummer Eddy Veldman, keyboardist Glenn Gaddum and lead singer Alfons Wielingen. Most members went on to play in Reality. The Needles often performed in Germany and France and one of their tracks appeared on the soundtrack of an Italian movie.
