American punk band formed in Seattle, WA in 1977. J. Satz Baret formed the Lewd after leaving Ze Whiz Kidz (with band member Tomato Du Plenty). In late 1979, lead singer J. Satz Baret and bassist Blobbo (Kurdt Vanderhoof) moved The Lewd to San Francisco. The band remain active with the line-up of J. Sats, Bob Clic, Tony Garay, Mic Rawls and Rob Vastano.
