    Originally known as [i] The Kubas [/i], The Koobas began in Liverpool in 1964. The following year they moved to London where they joined [i] Tony Statton-Smith's [/i] management agency. A trip to Hamburg, a deal with [i] Pye [/i] and a tour with [i] The Beatles [/i] followed before the quartet signed with [i] EMI [/i] in 1966. The Koobas had split up by the time their eponymous album was issued in 1969.
