Dutch singer and songwriter, born 26 April 1981 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The sound is described by Van der Leeuw herself as 'trippy pop, lyrical poetry with a raw, feminine edge'. The name is derived from the Jordaan, the neighbourhood where she grew up.
With her last single under the name of Caro Emerald released in 2020, Van der Leeuw announced in August 2022 that she had over time become more and more estranged from that persona. The Jordan sees her heading into a new direction for her career, by herself, allowing her the freedom to experiment with other sounds and to focus more on songwriting. Three singles were already released at the time of the announcement.
