The Five Americans

About

The Five Americans were a 1960's American garage rock band, most famous for the song "Western Union". The Five Americans, previously known as The Mutineers, were from Durant, Oklahoma but resided in Dallas, Texas for the bulk of their existence. They released 4 albums and 22 singles during their 6 year recording run (1965-1971). In 1971, after releasing eight more low charting singles, the boys simply got tired of touring and The Five Americans broke up.
