The Cosmic Jokers

About

German "band" behind sessions by Dieter Dierks, Harald Großkopf, Jürgen Dollase, Klaus Schulze, and Manuel Göttsching - as recorded from February to May of 1973 when Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser organised a series of psychedelic jam sessions at Studio Dierks. Allegedly the musicians were all high on drugs and didn't even notice they were being recorded (at least in the case of Klaus Schulze). In any case, the following year Kaiser and Gille Lettmann assembled several albums worth of material to release from these sessions - for instance also including [m1287]. The 3 Cosmic Jokers albums have become cosmic classics, though disowned by some of the musicians involved.
