The Coolies

The Coolies are pop rock band formed by Kim Shattuck ("Kimba Coolie"), Melanie Vammen ("Melimba Coolie"), and Palmrya Delran ("Palimba Coolie"), all of whom sing and play a variety of instruments for the band. The band is bi-costal, with Shattuck and Vammen based in Los Angeles while Delran lived in New York. Their debut release, a 10" EP entitled "Uh Oh...It's the Coolies" was released in the summer of 2019 on Steve Van Zandt's [l=Wicked Cool Record Co.], with all proceeds being donated to research regarding amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a disease that ran in Shattuck's family and which she had been diagnosed with in 2017 (she would ultimately succumb to the disease in October of 2019).
