The Cavedogs

Part of Boston's music explosion of the 90's, the Cavedogs were composed of Todd Spahr on vocals and guitar, Brian Stevens on vocals and bass and Mark A. Rivers on drums and vocals. Their first album "Joy Rides For Shut-Ins" was a big hit on the college circuit in the states and with independent music critics alike. After touring the states with success, they went back to the studio to work on their sophomore effort "Soul Martini". Not as successful in the shops, it was still welcomed by fans and critics for their clever lyrics and catchy tunes. After seeing that "Soul Martini" wasn't a financial success and that touring was taking a toll on their personal lives, they decided to call it quits. All three members went on to solo projects: Todd went on to create The Gravy, Brian Stevens put out a solo album under his own name and Mark Rivers went on to play in Poundcake. In 2001, the Cavedogs decided to get back together for a reunion tour across the US. They then released a compilation of unreleased tracks entitled "Fall Back In It" on their one-shot label Goodswift Records. They continue to have reunion tours in the Boston area in 2016 and in 2024.
