Garage / folk band formed in 1964 in Hays, Kansas. Originally called The Blueboys, they changed their name to The Blue Things in 1965 to avoid confusion and potential legal issues with the late Jim Reeves' backing group of the same name and relocated to Lawrence, Kansas shortly thereafter. In 1968, they split with their management, who owned the rights to their name, and began performing as Fyre.
Inducted into Kansas Music Hall of Fame, 2005.
