The Adventurers

The Adventurers was a rautalanka band, founded in Sweden in 1962.

Original line-up:
Johnny Lundin - solo guitar
Christer Hedin - rhythm guitar
Olle Nordström - bass
Kurt Mattsson - drums
Lenne Broberg - vocals

The Adventurers were signed to a Finnish Finndisc label in 1963 by Erik Lindström, and the same year they released their first single "The Wind".

When the Letkajenkka (Letkis) fever was rising in Finland, they released their first jenkka-inspired singe "Kukkuva Kitara / Letkajenkka". This made the band widely known and very popular.

When Lenne Broberg left to take care of his military service, he was replaced by Norwegian Jan Rohde. In 1964 Jan Rohde and The Adventurers recorded the single "Doin' The Jenka" which became a number one on the record sale charts in Finland. The recording was followed by the singles "At The Jenka Show" and "Finnjenka".

In 1966 the band had moved on, and their style was getting closer to progressive rock.

They made a short-lived comeback in 1981, performing rautalanka versions of classic Finnish schlagers. The record didn't sell well.
