Telenn Gwad

About

Telenn Gwad is a band from Moscow which offers us a magic combination of Breton, Scottish and Irish music. In the 90s it very quickly became extremely popular and stays hieratic until now. "Telenn Gwad" is the name of a song from Alan Stilvell's album whose influence is most noticeable in band's music. The name has a very interesting origin. "Telenn" (Telemn - gaelic) in Breton means "harp". "Gwad" (Gwaed in Welsh) actually means "blood', hence frequent translation is "Bloodstained Harp" which doesn't really seem to be correct. However, Oleg Boyko, one of the band leaders claims for "Harp Requital" as the right version.
