Danish rock'n'roll band formed spring 1963 with origins in the dancehall orchestra Tage Kørnings Kvartet. The original lineup consisted of vocalist and guitarist Teddy Edelmann, guitarist Tage Kørning, pianist Kaj Christensen, bassist John Friis, and drummer Vagn Andersen. Friis and Christensen left the group to form The Scarlets in autumn 1963. Edelmann left in spring 1964 and the band subsequently shortened their name to The Caravans. The band didn't release any records under this name in their time, but some recordings of them have appeared on some later day compilations.
