    TATSUYA OE (aka OE / CAPTAIN FUNK ) MUSICIAN / SOUND DESIGNER / DJ BORN IN 1969 Tatsuya Oe is a Japanese electronic musician /DJ, well-known for his mastery of production from experimental to pop. He burst onto the club scene as the maverick "Captain Funk" in '98 and played at many big events in Japan like the Fuji Rock Festival, as well as overseas. He released several successful albums including the acclaimed "Songs of the Siren"(2000). From "Here and You"(2002), he started another solo project simply under the name "OE",which is more cutting-edge and introspective. After the collaboration with Yoshihide Otomo " ONJQ + OE "(2003) and his most experimental album "Physical Fiction" which was released under his ull-name, Tatsuya Oe ,he has just released his second album under the "Oe" banner, "Director`s Cut" (P-VINE). He has remixed and collaborated with over 50 musicians,visual artists,etc. OE (E is pronounced as long E, like "O.E.”) is a side project of Japanese electronic music producer Tatsuya Oe. He launched this project to pursue creative freedom and experimentation beyond the musical scope of his other projects, such as Captain Funk and Dark Model. Compared to those main projects' distinctive groove-based sound characters, O.E. leaves some room to try a wide range of music styles while distancing himself from music formalism. Sometimes it may be categorized as contemporary classical, sometimes ambient electronica, or post-rock.
