Icelandic group formed in Reykjavík September 1981, Tappi Tíkarrass was a short-lived project that is perhaps best known as being the first serious music project of now-renowned singer Björk Guðmundsdóttir (aka Björk, who was only in her mid teens at the time). Coming out of the punk movement Tappi Tíkarrass combined elements of funk, disco and jazz.
The band's name is Icelandic for "Cork The Bitch's Arse".
