Sy Hightower

Song writer, producer, vocalist, "Sy" Sylvester Hightower hails from West Palm Beach, Florida, where he attended Roosevelt High school with [a1070722]. He later moved to Houston, Texas and joined [a763892] and The Hundred Hour Counts band. When Hightower arrived in Los Angeles he reconnected with Pittman who, with [a944923] would stop by Hightower's place to listen to his music. Several Hightower tunes made their way into recordings overseen by West Coast legend [a903424]. Pittman produced Hightower’s music for Carmen Records and sang background vocals with Carmelita who can be heard reaching the high notes.
