They recorded only one album, but went to reach the basic structure for their next musical step by adding into project the jazz flute player, songwriter and producer [a=David Conley] with whom Townsend and Collins started writing back some new material in his native New Jersey and began performing under the name [a=Surface], featuring lead singer [a=Karen Copeland]. After a brief hiatus from recording, Townsend and Conley met [a=Bernard Jackson], and they reformed "Surface" with Jackson as the frontman/bass guitarist as their definitive formation.
