    American jazz/rock/fusion bassist, born 10 February 1960. Famous for his 6-string fretless bass, although he also plays upright bass. He has played with jazz, rock, country, blues and New Age artists. Bailey studied music at North Texas State and University Of Miami. After moving to New York, he joined Dizzy Gillespie’s band in 1983 then moved to Los Angeles in 1985. He formed the band Bass Extremes with Victor Wooten in 1993. He joined Texas blues / country rock band Titty Bingo in 1993 then left the band in 2007, but continued to play and record with them on occasion.
