    Spahn Ranch

Spahn Ranch was an Industrial band formed in Los Angeles by Matt Green, who had moved from his native New York the previous year. Using the finances he had saved, Green invited Rob Morton (his intermittent musical partner of the preceding five years) to Los Angeles to begin work on the project. The result was a four song ep that was recorded in June under Cleopatra. Shortly after the realease, Cleopatra Records informed Matt and Rob that their ep had been well received by the press and fans alike. The Label also recommended that they find a full-time vocalist and consider recording an album. Coincidentally, Athan Maroulis, (a friend of the duo) had moved to L.A. at this time. They were asked to join the group and in April/May of that year, their debut album "Collateral Damage", was recorded. In the span of just under a decade Spahn Ranch released 5 albums, just as many EP's and a compilation spanning their early work. Though primarily released via Cleopatra their back catalogue was distributed throughout Europe under Zoth Ommog and later Out Of Line & Sub/Mission Records, as well as the UK based label Cryonica Music. In 2001 the group posthumously released their final album 'Closure'. In 2017 Cleopatra digitally reissued the band's 1995 album 'The Coiled One' on Bandcamp. The 1997 album 'Architecture' would be given the same treatment the following year. In 2024 released a remastered version of 'The Coiled One' on vinyl & CD (as well as a digital version). It contained 8 extra tracks, 7 of which were previously unreleased.
