Played with Barry Harris (1949-1952), Frank Rosolino (1954), Art Blakey, Curtis Fuller, Paul Quinichette, Clifford Brown, Pony Poindexter, Donald Byrd, Kenny Dorham, Yusef Lateef and others, and in his own bands.
He recorded albums as a leader for Savoy, Blue Note & Jazzland between 1958 & 1962.
