British rapper, born in Leeds but resident in Finsbury Park, London from the age of nine.
Formed and performed with his own Mud Fam (Mad Under Dogs) crew at various venues in London in the mid-to-late 1990s.
Recorded his first record with the Mud Fam, with Deckwrecka, in 1997 (The Mud Files Vol. 1).
Signed by Paul Martin to Talkin' Loud in September 2001 but the label's closure while Skinnyman was in prison meant he was unable to record material.
His influential debut album, Council Estate Of Mind, was released in 2004.
