Shubh Saran

Shubh Saran is a guitarist and composer living in New York City. Saran was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, but grew up in six different countries. His unique upbringing influenced his musical style. Saran graduated from Berklee College of Music with a B.A. in Guitar Performance and a minor in Music Production & Engineering. Prior to transferring to music school, Saran attended the University of Toronto as a Political Science major. Saran started performing music under his own name in 2014. Saran and his band have toured the United States, India, Canada, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Mexico. He released his first full-length album “Hmayra” in 2017. Since releasing his first album, Saran released 2 EPs – H.A.D.D. and Becoming. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Saran composed, produced, and released his second full-length record titled “inglish”. In 2018, Shubh Saran and his band collaborated with local indie artists in New Delhi to produce 5 live Youtube videos. The videos featured Shubh Saran’s 6-piece band and Indian artists including Saptak Chatterjee, Shadow & Light, Pakshee, Chayan & Smiti, and Dhruv Viswanath. The project was featured by Rolling Stone India.
