Irish folk rock group formed in 1992 by Shane MacGowan, also recording and performing on their own as [a=The Popes]. Active until the death of founding member Tom McManamon in 2006. [a=The Popes] re-emerged with a new lineup led by founding member Paul McGuinness, and MacGowan has guested with them at times.
