Mexican guitarist, requinto player. The "Requinto de Oro" of Los Tecolines, only lived 34 years, but his extensive musical life covered practically that extension of time, since he began to play the guitar publicly from the age of 6. Sergio was born in Mexico City on March 16, 1935 and died on September 8, 1969. Sergio had the problem of his addiction to alcohol, and because of that he died in 1969. He was a child prodigy. In 1941, at 6 years old, he played classical music as soloist in the XEB. At age 7 he debuted at the Lyric Theater, acting as his artistic godfather actor Roberto Soto. In 1947, at the age of 11, he appeared at his first recital in the Manuel M. Ponce Hall of the Palacio de Bellas Artes, recitals that would be repeated until 1960 (24 years), at which he concluded that stage on August 15, that year. In 1951, at 16 years of age, he founded Los Tecolines, with Antonio Velázquez in the first voice, José Luis Cruz Damián in the second and his brother Jorge Flores in the third. Sergio as requinto.
