Seamus Tansey

Irish traditional musician who played the flute and tin whistle. He was born in 1943 and he took up the tin whistle first in 1961. He won the All-Ireland Fleadh in Thurles in 1965 and he recorded five albums, one with Eddie Corcoran, and had a big influence on succeeding generations of flute players. Tansey is one of the references of the “Sligo Style” in Irish flute playing.
